I’ve heard that you can happily and fruitfully tour year round and never even leave Texas. I love travelin’ far and wide, but being a Texas girl I’d love to really delve into checking out all the sweet little towns and big country cities in the Lone Star State.

I’m kickin’ off a mini-Texas-tour TONIGHT in New Braunfels. This is one of my FAVORITE Texas towns, and home of my College Roommates all natural sno cone trailer (The Gourmet Ice Co.) I’m gonna grab a tasty treat and head over to the stage at Billy’s Ice, see you all there!

I’m really excited to share the stage tonight with all of these super talented Songwriters- Nicolette Good, Little Brave, Matt Harlan, Vanessa Lively, Graham Weber. We’re celebrating the release of Nicolette Good’s new album, Monarch. I promise you will want a recorded copy of all of her songs, come hear for yourself. The show begins at 8pm at Flipnotics.

The last month has been a whirlwind of creating and releasing new material- A music video for mommas on Mother’s Day, brand new Dawn & Hawkes songs, imagining and then recording, producing, mixing, and designing our new album, playing loads of shows with all of our favorite musicians, playing a North Texas tour, throwing a CD release party, and now I’m exhausted, happy, and ready and willing to do it all over again and again.

I feel extremely grateful for all of the friends and musicians who’ve helped supported over the last six weeks as each of these creative projects were born. Without your love, encouragement, edits, attentive ears, advice, and one liners these days would actually feel like work. Thank you to everyone who came out to see us as the Kerrville Folk Festival, Thank you to all who made our video premier of Mother’s Day part of YOUR special day, and Thank you to all of our friends who partied with us at the CD release show last Friday.  A super special thanks to Clint Simmons, Nick Jay, Trevor Nealon, Mike Ross, Nate Rowe, Jeff Arnold, Luke Wade, Gabe Fry, Cecily Monique, Taylor Romero, Jillian Hall, Nikki Craig, Cara Powers, Douglas Jay Boyd, Vanessa Cabrales, Lauren Jordan, Vanessa Lively, Nicolette Good, Jackie Myers, Noelle Hampton, Havilah Rand, and our sets of sweet parents. Chris and I have been writing up a storm and we’ve finally decided to record an album full of our co-writes. I’m so excited to share the new material with you. The album is in the throws of production right now and is due out on June 1st. Stay tuned for a special pre-sale surprise and CD release show details. Here’s the photo my sister took of us earlier this week for our first Dawn & Hawkes album.

One day, I would love to write a Nashville hit song. When I do, this will be the first thing I buy to celebrate.

I’m super happy, humbled and honored to have been selected as one of this year’s Kerville New Folk Finalists. Congratulations to all of the performers, I can’t wait to share the stage with ya.
